One perk of living on the East Coast is how close I am now to my favorite city in the world. We travel to New York several times a year and there wasn’t once we didn’t stop by Momofuku Milk Bar. I cannot testify to other goodies in the store but their brilliant cereal milk soft serve is my No.1 favorite cold snack in summer. The humble name may sound dull to some but the flavor is marvelous to say the least – it’s sweet and salty, rich but refreshing, chilled to a perfect texture that’s boosted by the must-have crunchy savory corn flakes topping.

Another gem we discovered on this trip was the House of Small Wonder in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This fusion eatery serves creative dishes with a touch a Japanese finesse. Everything we ordered was a pure bliss. The cappuccino was crafted to perfection; and the chicken meatball don was delicate and well-balanced in flavor. Even if Japanese food isn’t your thing, the quaint interior finished with skylights alone is worth a visit.
