Crushed velvet returns for fall in a grander scale the last year when it rose. It’s literally ubiquitous via all prominent designers. Snug turtlenecks, loose tees, tailored suits, swinging pants, draped dresses, with or without embellishments – even a great variety of those doesn’t beat the sense of déjà-vu. That said, velvet is having an omnipotent moment. It cannot go wrong.
Recycling my velvet pieces from last year sounds economically sufficient to me. Otherwise, a simple upgrade in the latest bright colors or tonal prints would further energize the eyes.
Coming together with the trend is the color code: “BASIC”. Plain blue is cool. So are simple pale pink or rose. The more straightforward the hue is, the more sophisticated.
