Facilitated by FrontRow, Recto joined hand with Thomas Mason and updated a few classics at the hip online retailer W Concept. This crisp trench-and-shirt two-in-one blouse is one of the latest.
It’s inarguably smart to include a second pair of detachable and convertible outsized cuffs on a women’s shirt nowadays, thanks to the increasingly dramatic manipulations of the sleeves on the runway over the past few years.
What’s equally pleasing is its feminine wrap closure, secured through a tie-belt, and a contrasting notched collar that reminisces a martial trench coat.
That said, given all its meticulous details, I wouldn’t have picked the shirt up if it weren’t crafted in Thomas Mason, a trusty Italian shirting fabric supplier.
The unadorned textile comes in a robust, vivid hand that enhances functionality and supports structure. The matte cotton is gratifyingly full-bodied – one of the key traits I value on such classics like a shirt or a trench coat.
It’s a cinch to style the shirt. Layer it under a blazer or a relaxed knit; finish it up with tailored pants, jeans, or skirts, with sneakers, or heeled boots; leave the double cuffs hanging or streamline the sleeves as you wish. The gist is: I haven’t spot any obvious styling faux pas on it. And that alone is a solid feat. Agreed?
