A friend once brought up the New York based label, Theory, and asked what I think of it. She further clarified that instead of posing a question, she was rather venting a mix of disbelief and confusion about the brand’s “plain” approach to style and hefty prices.
I completely understand where she’s coming from – we all have different expectations about style. That said, I find it getting increasingly more difficult today to justify a price tag from a practical point of view of cost. Rather, I personally judge that upon appeal, a fuzzy factor that really varies greatly by individuals. This is where a “personal style” comes in handy. A well-developed preference isn’t to be taken for granted – I don’t always know what I want exactly. But there are moments that I do and my first sight upon this dress was one of those moments.
I adore the round neckline – rather, hemlines allover – and the discrete zip front and zippered slash pockets. The heavyweight cotton adds volume and structure. I’m paring it with my sneakers and I can see myself wear it with booties and sandals too.
How do you judge the value of a fashion item? What are the factors you take into account? Share your thoughts in comment with me!

You’re always the sweetest! Love you ❤️😘
Such good points. I always try to make sure that I’m not getting suckered into purchasing something because of the brand as opposed to the actual piece itself. It’s tough! In the long run I always get more use out of things that stand on their own regardless of brand.
Glad you agree hon!! I know – it can get tough since it’s hard to resist good value! Thank you for stopping by. Hope you have a fabulous day!! xx
