The LA based denim brand has got edge. What first caught my attention, oddly, was a pair of leather pants at a third party retailer. The beautifully crafted leather bottoms had nothing to do with the skin-hugging ones that I recoil at. Their elegant silhouette was kept intact thanks to an utterly minimalist design. Phew.
So when Frame sent me the poplin top and these cropped jeans, I felt I was long due to give the brand’s signature denim a proper try. The top is vertically paneled to naturally slim down around the waist. The stretch on the denim is ideal. The bell cuffs on the shirt and the reversed hems on the bottoms are not intended for a rock-n’-roll statement but rather subtle, congruous details that elevate the vibes. Sizing, as far as I can tell, covers petite frames beautifully.
The combo of shirt and jeans has evolved so much that they become a singular style in full bloom. A minor detail can produce a key change. Frame is not radical or subcultural. It makes a classic European impression. It’s mainstream casual-chic. It’s the good Frame.
