The Eddy Anemian collection for H&M is beyond chic. It’s couture, to be precise. The 2014 H&M Design Award winner turns out to be a 24-year-old French student studying design in Belgium. I adore the rough ruffle theme running throughout the entire collection. By rough, I mean unfinished edges and a textured, rustic print surface that resembles an ancient wax print’s. The collection also boasts some structured, blown up shapes that are both feminine and powerful.
I was lucky enough to score a few pieces from the collection before they were completely gone. I mean, gone gone. I couldn’t even locate one on the omnipotent ebay anymore. And because his design is glaringly unique, I unfortunately failed to find a similar (or even slightly alike) item for you. Sorry, ladies. :/ I’d say keep an eye on ebay if you’re interested, they may come back in stock.
This ruffled jacket opens up sideways behind the right shoulder. That said, putting it on feels more like wearing a thick top than the so-descried jacket. The back is a beautiful drape of a silky nude fabric. The ruffled panels below the waist extend into the back and hinge together to tighten up a feminine silhouette. Today, I’m wearing these structured high-low shorts and my beloved McQ two-tone boots, but I can also see a perfect duo of this jacket and a pair of flowy wide-leg pants.
This is everyday couture. Applauses to you, Mr. Anemian.
I’m wearing:
Eddy Anemian x H & M patterned jacket (sold out) | H & M structured high-low shorts (old) | McQ Alexander McQueen boots (old)
