Growing up, my mother kept an amazing collection of luxurious knitwear: the timeless classic, contemporary oversized, trendy slouchy, chic patterned, edgy structured – the large variety were all made in lush, fine yarns. Once she let me borrow her cashmere when I was in middle school, I fell in love and never looked back. I have developed some unwavering love for soft and plush knits, thanks to her exceptional taste.
Yes, I love all knitwear. But if I had to choose, without fail, my eyes always land on a perfectly classic ribbed piece, or an avant-garde structured design first. For a sweater to stay structured, usually, the plushest yarns are used to gain the extra volume needed, and to me, the plusher the merrier. This Ports 1961 has bulky, cable-knit structured shoulders and the most tender texture. The dark green hue adds an elegant twist. These funky two-tone wood wedges by Stella McCartney were perfect for the day. I changed into these comfy but debatably chic boots after work – many find it hard to associate shearling boots with style, but I think the fluffy, slanted shaft opening and the cracked leather finish made these work. Which pair do you like better? And what’s your favorite kind of knitwear?
Major blizzard weather in Boston today. It kinda feels nice to stay in on a day like this. 🙂
