With some controlled yet deft modern conceptions, Scandinavian design has made its own aesthetic mark in recent years. Casual, oversized and androgynous, and a little rock and roll – all of which with a serious lack of color, those core values the Nordics crafted pulled off an iconic elegance that’s modern, edgy-chic, yet highly functional.
The truth is, among the chic Parisian, quirky – very – British, and the minimal Scandinavian, the last is also my personal go-to. It’s the equivalent of sushi in my gastronomic life – if you follow my Snapchat and InstaStories, you know what I mean.
I had reservation about ruffles and sheer fabrics. But apparently Designers Remix, a true Scandinavian label, knows the way to neutralize the stark femininity.
The athletic knit cuffs on the white ruffle blouse and the androgynous wide cut from the suiting pants are meticulous details that broke and elevated the old classics onto a modern height. Brilliant.
Finish the looks with some chunky-heeled booties for a true Scandinavian accent. But really, I believe anything minimalistic would do. No big deal – these designs are well equipped with versatility at birth.
