
Slouchy-ism, if there is such a thing, is a quite divided preference that I see either a full-on look like the one I did or none, nada. I do not intend to take a side and defend my look here. Just like Mr.Lagerfeld has famously (or notoriously) said, and I paraphrase, that his designs are only for smaller people, a coveted trend doesn’t denote broad suitability. At the height of its popularity, slouchy minimalist is not for everyone.
That’s really nothing new – we all know the truth is usually quite the opposite. What photographs well usually gains traction fast. But photogenic quality is as unrelated to practicality as it can be.
Have I totally digressed and off the topic here? Not necessarily. All I am saying is the purpose of style, to me, is to inspire creative experimentation. Staying current is a matter of curiosity and go-getter vitality.
It’s such a cliché. But what’s not. Isn’t it nice to hear it again from time to time?
