Let’s first disregard all the trend forecasts on how animal-inspired fashion would become the most coveted style to wear for the upcoming Fall/Winter. I mean, we east coasters are still desperately anticipating the real spring weather as we tread against the chilly wind each morning. The struggle is too real for us to concern the next winter yet.
But more importantly, with a stylistic history as rich as animal print’s, this bold, synonymous with 80s glam can either appear gaudy or groovy, depending on the individuals.
But this may be a sound reason to revisit the style now, if not earlier: at the prospect of the patterns’ imminent popularity, a team effort – though not as coordinated – of many prominent designers elevates them to an overall modernized façade.
Now as you have likely figured, I’m an avid fan of retro styles. These re-invented classic pieces serve a gratifying bite of daring characters. An all-over spotted look would be my choice. A modest animal-print is a mere form of rhetoric. So why not follow its gravity?
But there are also plenty of other forms to try, if I fail to convince you. A pair of sheer tights or a soft silk scarf with animal prints will be a good way to start.
