It is Rei Kawakubo, one of my longtime idols, that takes this architecture inspired volume to the next level. The origami-like structure highlighted with a row of unassuming stubs and asymmetric hem is original theater meets functional realism: the innovative silhouette is precisely portioned; the lightly padded inner is timely and thoughtful; and the leather-like finish is decidedly matt.
How do I put it? Focused individuality is what I see in this piece, if that makes sense at all.
You see, when I finally decided to actually write about the outfit, the subject happens to be conceptual, and theater is meant for tacit enjoyment. But cool thing is our imagination is now set free – it’s conceptual but also bluntly visual.
I’m wearing:
Comme Des Garçons oversized jacket | Vetements – Leather Platform Ankle Boots – Black | Palm Angels hooded sweatshirt (sold out) | Acne Studios straight leg jeans (past season)
