This time, Van Noten’s signature prints were decorated, with sewn-on fabric embellishment on the sleeves. . The Edwardian vibes are now updated with a reduced neckline and raw-edge ruffles. The washed lilac silk sustained a soft structure, dancing with movements and restoring to its balloon silhouette being still. Find tailoring is clearly a craft.
Having said all that, the independent designer stressed an idea of spontaneity of his SS17 collection. Matching a superior blouse like this with my wardrobe’s most worn jeans would work. I can see that. And a pair of my grubby sneakers would too complement.
We want authenticity and this blouse is – seemingly ironically but necessarily –carefully charted for that.
