Behind each oversized piece I own, it’s my obsession over a composed and free mindset, I figured. This silk blouse, however, is more than that. It satisfies my fixation on the costume drama that strictly belongs to the magnificent ancient civilizations.
I was reading an article on why people love War and Peace. I had to agree with the author, Menand, that to certain degrees, perhaps we do fantasize and glorify the lost world of privilege. But as terrible as that can sound – depending on how you interpret it, I think that’s also just a facet of the idealistic humanity, an ideal that helps us understand our own species.
I need to halt before I develop this into a random musing. Hopefully my efforts of explaining why this blouse is quite mesmerizing are working.
Now, to pair this with my beloved straight-leg jeans and the fishnet tights is just, well, arbitrary. I wish I could be more useful here. And I’m trying – I guess the underlying theme, at hindsight, may be free spirits. See, I still managed to tie this back to humanity (okay, bad joke).
Feel free to exchange thoughts in comment. Enjoy the rest of your week. Take it easy.
