Butter, our frenchie baby, turned 3 last Thursday. “How time flies! I cannot believe he’s so big now. I don’t want him to grow up so fast”… All the parenting cliché that I used to laugh about hit me hard.
It has been quite an interesting journey with him. Butter is not the most robust when it comes to health, mainly due to his breed. The stress coming with each episode of his illness was real – my husband and I over thought, constantly worried, and even lost sleep. And we both being first-time dog owners didn’t help.
Recently, Butter sprained one of his legs. After consulting five differently vets, including two specialists, and multiple rounds of X rays and Ultrasound, we finally found some peace of mind, restoring our faith that he will eventually (though awfully slowly) get well. When one day, I chatted with my mom about our uncontrollably excessive worry for Butter, we both realized that the moment of “I get it now, mom” finally arrived in me. Ah-ha.
Yet another absolutely real cliché is, with all the high emotional costs, I still wouldn’t have it any other way. It was a perfect coincidence for us that Mother’s Day and our fur baby’s birthday happened in the same week. Really, one cannot celebrate one without another.
On a separate note, once deemed as hideous and lack of imagination by me, the Chanel side packs started to grow on me. The biggest challenge remained in my view is their ease of use: remembering which bag contains what is nearly impossible as the two packs are simply identical, and putting them on is a greater pain than expected. Besides practicality, the pearl chain adds a nice touch of elegance on top of the revitalizing duo the double bags make.
