The thing about a tie-belt robe jacket to me is, if it’s not fitted slouchy, it runs risk of looking uptight.
When structured into a boxy shape, a robe jacket is one of my essentials for a minimalist silhouette on cooler days. This one by VINCE is not the case. The perfectly tailored garment was not meant for a cocoon contour. It is sharp (yet soft with a tying belt) and textured. But it turned out to be just as versatile as its slouchy brother.
For any minimalist dresser, like myself, adding a few edgy, clean-lined pieces offer a quick balance with the order and femininity in the jacket. The wrap-skirt shirtdress I’m wearing underneath and these of my favorite boots did just that.
That said, by all means try the jacket with matching tailored pieces for an elegant work outfit, or with some distressed boyfriend jeans to achieve an off-duty casual-chic vibes – very Americano.
