Where I am based now is undergoing unexpected warm waves for this holiday season. Coming from the West Coast, I’m blissed out. Some of my East Coast natives, for instance my personal trainer, harbor mixed feeling about a non-white Christmas.
Hubby hopped on a phone call on the Christmas Day with his college bestie who was at that time with his family down in Mississippi. From their conversation, I learned that the dad wondered if the warm weather had anything to do with global warming.
I certainly hope not. Yet I’m still more blissed out than concerned.
Certain stylish designs like to make the most defiant statements against functionality. And I’m afraid they aren’t the minorities. For example, a cozy knit dress belongs to that class. I mean, we can still make them work by bulking up the bottom with tights, over-the-knee boots, or even skin-tight pants when a pair of bare legs is simply out of the question.
But let’s face it – they look the best san those additives, with an unspoken understanding that the season for such daring dressing is regrettably brief. Except for climate fluctuations like this.
So there you have it – a lightly awkward union of one season on the top and another on the bottom. You’ve seen this knit dress and sneakers in my earlier posts. This leather jacket was my latest find at my local Nordstrom Rack. The detachable hood is brilliant and the lambskin is soft and supple. I didn’t find it online but go search your local stores – it’s worth the splurge in my view.

Love the dress so much, and how you paired it with classic white trainers and a leather jacket! Wish the weather would warm up slightly up in Alberta …
Joy xx.
