Let me put one thing straight: I love sequins. Be it sporadically adorned or fully covered, sequined pieces make a daring and glamorous statement. They relive a strong 80s attitude of youthful passion and an unadulterated sense of optimism.
This fully sequined dress packs so much more than just sparkles: the tulle-lined dress is elevated with subtle cutouts, ruched drape, and liberally sized bell sleeves. The extremely sleek front closure of a few tulle-covered tonal buttons around the high waist leaves a variety of styling possibilities.
Yet my favorite part is how the dress is structured to be truly functional. This is so far the only deep V-neck I could wear sans the little help of fashion tapes without having to constantly check if my neckline is revealing more than what’s welcome. The dress neatly clings to my chest thanks to a smooth cut and its considerable substance. That said, I consider trotting around in it is a form of weight training in itself.
