    GENTLE STRENGTH

    March 10, 2017

They glide. They gleam. They ooze poise, grace and drama. Those are the ways silk fabrics impress me and became a personal all-time favorite.

I make instant association of the fabric with the ballet art. Silk carries all the artistic expressions in a ballet movement: the harmony, the strength, the resilience, the brilliance, the freedom.

The generous volume on the blouse, the high-low hem, the curves at hip, the slight flare at bottom on the skirt – all those forms and edges are softened with a silky construction, leaving plenty room for imagination and recreation.

And even at the presence of those radical platform boots that oddly inspire combative thoughts in me, the fluid silhouette is not diminished.

They say without softness, strength risks turning into aggression.

    Here’s to gentle strength.
