    I was grabbing a quick sip of my morning cup of ioe at Toby’s Estate on the fifth avenue. The location is known for being instagrammable – a mouthful of awkwardness this digital age is responsible yet again. The truth is, upon my own inquiry, the cool spot is literally, a mere spot. Despite the inadequacy on square footage, the coffee was invigorating, and the café is hooked to the beautifully decorated Club Monaco and this bookstore, The Strand.

    The Strand offers lots of rare and international titles, heavily skewing toward progressive art and culture. It’s a convenient spot to get quick insights into the forward-thinking latest that’s still mass.

    To be it all seems an ever more imperative value that it’s become basic. Clothing stores equipped with ancillary lifestyle businesses is one way to demonstrate such all-compassing capability. Reporters nowadays are expected to single-handedly whip up a news story with occasional help from a strange passerby to hold the camera for a hurried stand-up in the field – though short of a third arm, a thick skin would do in this case.

    Bloggers, besides styling, virtual networking, posing the great outdoors rain or shine, event hopping, business handling, digital camera experimenting, are now also pro filter players.

    If you think about the integrity, it’s not entirely dispiriting. First, it’s what a fast-food digital market demands. And then, an expert of any trade starts as a beginner.

    I love fast food. I cannot have it all the time. There is only this much space between gratification and repulsion.

    But scrolling down my social feed, I fear that our sprawling schedule at times loses its focus. That tiny gap is quickly filling up.

    An all-rounder being a non-negotiable string to most industries nowadays, it is also a highly strategic identity. There is got to be one deliberate focus at a time.

    While the bookshop is mesmerizing and the coffee tasty, thank goodness Club Monaco did not make those.
