I’ve always found the idea of a white cotton shirt with a tailored midi pencil skirt inspiring. The classic duo creates an apt, common silhouette for further dramatic adaptations. And this version 2.0 via C/MEO COLLECTIVE’s Mezzanine line is pure bliss.
As a matter of fact, the entire line is full of ingenious energy. Refreshing lines are what impressed me the most from the collection – smooth buckles and trinkets, intense and extended hemlines, minimal and unexpected piping are all readily integrated into a unity.
The top I’m wearing is actually a dress with a waist tie belt. But the asymmetric hemline also makes it a perfect flare top. The shirt collar and the familiar hand of humble cotton build a strong contrast to the drama.
The lined pencil skirt in a matching fabric is dotted with minimal geo gold trinkets on front. The loose fit breaks the potential constraint and feels free and easy. It goes beautifully with a whole spectrum of tops ranging from a basic tee to a dressy satin blouse.
Other ways of wearing this skirt is on their way. Stay tuned. x
