I’m wearing:
THIRD FORM UPRISING ROBE DRESS in GARNET | THIRD FORM PULL THROUGH DRESS in NATURAL | THIRD FORM PULL THROUGH PANT in BLACK
Haider Ackermann satin sides tailored trousers (past season, similar style linked)
Ellery Cropped Flared Velvet Trousers| Haider Ackermann oversized silk blouse (past season, similar style linked) | Tony Bianco DIDDY Black Velvet boots
Dorateymur Radio studded leather ankle boots (linked in black) | Céline turtleneck | IRO shearling jacket
What comes with edgy styles is their proximity to become dated once the season’s over. When done right, on the other hand, these unconventional cuts make the best part.
But what is right and what is wrong? The question itself is problematic.
For most of us whose daily dressing priorities are not theater, we regardless appreciate character pieces that stand out. And we want to know what will stay relevant to be both ecological and economical.
So that question needs to be rephrased. Rather, what edgy piece makes a modern wardrobe staple?
To me, a few universal design elements to look for on a timeless piece are monochromes, architectural and ergonomic silhouettes, an easy or even oversized fit, and hints of retro vibes.
The latest from THIRD FORM, one of my all-time favorite Aussie labels, set positive examples. The heavy architectural accents are enhanced in monochromes and selected hues such as vintage scarlet. The minimally handled details like the rich pleats and subtle buckles take vital parts. And these will take us from day to night, work to play, for the duration we’d hope for.
