Frankly, I’m not the biggest denim person. So for me to wear a denim piece, it is when the fabric is pushed beyond its normal range.
This floral embroidered day-gown would’ve lost its spirits if it weren’t sewn in denim. The voluminous skirt in raw hem, the fitted bodice, and most fascinatingly, a slit across the back gave the dress a contemporary edge. The oversized denim jacket from the second look with shoulder slits presents a potential of high tailoring with the good ol’ denim.
Like the new generation trainers, denim pieces like these now safely land on the special occasion dress list. I plan to wear the floral dress to my next event.
