Code “Field”

Everyday at around 6PM, a few texts come in and out that can be quickly grouped and coded with the word “field”.

“Going down to the field in 5”.

“At the field now. Come down”.

“Where on the field”?

These seemingly out-of-context exchanges are how we, the dog parents in the neighborhood, arrange daily pup play dates. I have since become a somehow outdoor person.

That has been a mysteriously natural-feeling change.

I have always been an art enthusiast throughout my life. But my appreciation for nature is only a recent development. There were too many bugs, too much dirt, and too much sun for my liking.

Yet hello to the things parenting has done to me. Between muddy pants, constant cleaning, and many sick walks are fresh sources of inspiration and novel perspectives.

But you know filed isn’t more special than any other locations. And in that sense, code fear or code prejudice should be a more accurate term for my purpose.

Try something new really never gets old.
