The blazer’s feminine fit is well balanced with the androgynous shoulders, making it a versatile styling piece. The crushed velvet hand and the embroidered motif build a strong retro statement. Natacha Ramsay-Levi’s debut collection for Chloé was full of historical references and these house-heritage horses were Levi’s homage to her predecessors McCartney and Philo’s love of the animal. All is lovely except that these chevaux seem to fare the best at its own circus. Without its matching pants, the jacket appears a loner or at least somewhat lost in translation.
On a separate note, all Chloé bottom wear fit large, to me a dying sizing issue that just seems yesteryear given today’s global consumerism. It can take longer for any centenary houses to turn around but I’m hoping for some drastic changes soon.
