Sporty chic, almost an eponymous term for the up and trending idiosyncratic Australian elegance in a large part, is now taking roots everywhere. The style sprouted somewhere; Stella McCartney elevated it to a higher stage with her sleek lines back in 2013; the Aussies brought it down on street.
This zero-fuss-silhouette top is actually part of a dress. The vertical lines boast strong track attire vibes. Hidden under my side-flounce linen skirt is a dramatic, asymmetric hem from the dress that translates into the epitome of edgy minimalism.
To complete the look, trainers would be a sure bet. But unless there is a stronger reason, on most days, I’m into and in smart sleek shoes. I’m no longer a new college grad. These Celine mules are now a better fit for me.
But what to wear with and how to style sporty-chic pieces are such individual matters. To me, what’s equally applaudable to the refreshing aesthetics about sporty chic is its indiscriminate aptness – a key garment quality I regard to dress casual but esteemed.
