On every piece of garment, I search for one element that stands out, be it a dramatic asymmetric cut, an exaggerated fit, a tiny buckle, a meticulous line of stitches, or a particular tender, velvety hand that gives the fabric life.
One such feature, assuming the rest of the garment is in harmony, should suffice. Actually, when there is more than one, we could run into risky business.
That said, this sheer overall dress apparently pulled it off with a few brilliant details. The muted gold hue, the sheer organza that holds structure, and the bold, fluid cut aren’t competing each other.
Arianne Elmy, the New York based designer behind it, apparently knows her trade. Organic, defiant, and elegant – it seems that I can have it all in her designs.
She also made the white tee I’m layering underneath. It’s my IT tee. I love the double collar and am thankful for it being itself to provide fine comfort. I feel relaxed and protected in this durable, superior tailoring.
I cannot seem to find the exact item on her site now but feel free to contact her if you’re interested.
