A Slice of Rock Chic

This-provocative-plunge-meets-a-masculine-sensibility-on-the-shoulders manipulation works for me. Coming from Anthony Vaccarello’s debut S/S 2017 collection for Saint Laurent, the puffed shoulders pay homage to a 1982 YSL collection and the dress is a vivid façade of rock-chic.

To guzzle the very Americano – perhaps even universal – comfort food, a slice of hot pie, is a decidedly non-bourgeois act, but precisely fuels our spirits and the spirit of the brand.

There’s a potential risk of hot dripping on my open torso, but I see the reinvented proportions and the after-hours glamour of the dress stimulatingly worth the risk.

The magic era of the ‘80s is now celebrated in full force in fashion. What does that mean? It means it’s the best time to be raw, to be brute (ahem spiritually), to be tough, and to have your pizza and eat it – if you ask me- all with due credit. As we say in Chinese: a wise man suits his actions to the times. Cheers.
