Scandinavian Chic via Too Damn Expensive

Actually, I’m not exactly sure if she wants to be labeled as a typical Scandinavian aesthete. Created by the Norwegian designer Elisabeth Vestli, the garments’ visuals – the monochrome, the free forms, the clean lines, and the individuality – certainly carry the Scandinavian airs. But the functionality, as achieved via forms, seems to be idiosyncratic.

The fit of these pants has a rich and luxurious fluidity to it, thanks to the voluminous folds, plentiful gathers, and slouchy cut.

Aside from that, the most exciting part to me is how her pieces can be worn different ways. I appreciate that certain garment details leave room for personal touches, being a pair of oversized tie belts, or a soft relaxed cut that can either flow or be tied down.

These tapered pants come with exceptionally generous room at waist with two wide tie belts. How to tie them is up to us: the extra fabric around waist creates a flounce as we make a tight knot, though I chose to tuck the flounce back in for an uneven finish here.
